  • The below terms of service (Terms) apply to the professional dog walking and pet services (Services) provided to you by us.

    In these Terms, the following definitions shall apply:

    "we", "our" and "us" mean Safe and Sound Hound

    "you" means the person who appointed us or on whose behalf we are providing Services.

  • 1. Objective

    1.1 Our objective is to provide you with high quality, safe and reliable Services. In order to achieve this objective:

    1.1.1 we shall at all times maintain full liability insurance commensurate with the Services;

    1.1.2 when collecting, returning or otherwise transporting your dog, we shall hold it within a secure, purpose built dog crate inside our fully insured vehicle;

    1.1.3 unless otherwise agreed with you in writing, dogs shall at all times be walked on the lead. Where we have obtained your prior written consent for your dog to be walked off the lead, we may, but shall not be obliged to, conduct such off the lead walks. Such decisions shall at all times remain within our reasonable discretion.

    1.1.4 unless otherwise agreed with you, group dog walks shall be carried out between the hours of 10am and 2pm;

    1.1.5 you shall provide us with a set of house keys labelled with your dog’s name, which we will keep in a safe and secure place;

  • 2. Services

    2.1 We shall provide our Services to you on the following terms and conditions:

    2.1.1 you shall ensure your dog is microchipped and has a tag with contact details securely attached to the collar;

    2.1.2 where your dog is being walked in a group, it shall be walked alongside other carefully chosen dogs at a location of our choice;

    2.1.3 you shall inform us of any relevant information relating to your dog’s behaviour including, but not restricted to, aggression towards people and/or other dogs or resource guarding. You acknowledge that such behaviour may make it necessary for your dog to be walked individually at the applicable rate and not in a group , provided we, in our sole discretion, consider it safe to do so. You further acknowledge that any dangerous or inappropriate behaviour may result in the immediate withdrawal of our Services;

    2.1.4 you shall inform us of any relevant information relating to your dog’s health and wellbeing including, but not restricted to, eye infections, stomach upsets, coughs or other potentially contagious conditions that could easily spread. You acknowledge that where your dog is displaying signs of injury or illness, we may suspend the provision of our Services until such time as your dog is considered, on the advice of a veterinary surgeon obtained, to be, as applicable, fit, healthy, no longer contagious or it is otherwise considered appropriate for your dog may be around people and /or other dogs;

    2.1.5 you confirm your dog has received up to date treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks;

    2.1.6 you confirm your dog is up-to-date with its vaccinations;

    2.1.7 you agree that we may make appropriate decisions regarding your dog’s health and welfare, including seeking and/or administering medication or treatment in the event of an emergency, provided that:

    2.1.7.1 we shall at all times act in your dog’s best interests,

    2.1.7.2 in the case of an emergency, medication shall only be administered to your dog following the advice, whether in person or by telephone, of a qualified veterinary surgeon,

    2.1.7.3 wherever possible, we shall obtain your prior approval before administering medication or incurring costs in respect of your dog’s treatment. We shall use the most recent emergency contact number provided by you for this purpose, which you must ensure is up to date,

    2.1.7.4 you agree that you are at all times be responsible for the costs of your dog’s treatment, medication or veterinary consultations and shall reimburse us for all reasonable costs we have incurred on your behalf;

    2.1.7.5 you agree that we, acting reasonably in our sole discretion, shall determine which circumstances constitute an emergency;

    2.1.8 in relation to non-emergency medication, you shall ensure that this is clearly labelled and confirm that it was prescribed by a veterinary surgeon. We shall only administer medication in accordance with the directions of a veterinary surgeon; and

    2.1.9 you acknowledge that female dogs in season shall not be walked in groups. Such dogs shall only be walked individually at the applicable rate.

  • 3. Fees and Expenses

    3.1 fees are calculated and payable weekly in arrears. Invoices shall be settled promptly and in any event no later than two days following the date of issue.

    3.2 in the event of your dog requiring treatment or medication under paragraph 2.17 above, you agree to pay any applicable veterinary bills promptly and in any event no later than two days following the date they were incurred.

    3.3 a non-refundable deposit of 25% is required for boarding, payable at the time of booking.  Boarding places cannot be confirmed until the deposit has been paid.

    3.4 late or unpaid fees may result in the immediate withdrawal of Services.

  • 4. Cancellations

    4.1 except in the case of boarding you must provide us with twenty four hours advance notice in order to cancel a booked Service. Failure to give such notice may result in you being charged a cancellation fee of 50% of the total value of the booked Service.

    4.2 in the case of boarding, we require seven days advance notice of cancellation.  Failure to give such notice may result in you being charged a cancellation fee of 50% of the total value of the booked Service, which shall automatically include forfeitire of the 25% deposit. For the avoidance of doubt, the deposit is non-refundable.
